WATER TESTING AND TREATMENT

K&C Plumbing is the only licensed distributor of Eagle Water Treatment products in Manitoba.

K&C Plumbing Inc. has partnered with Eagle Water Quality to offer our clients quality potable water solutions at industry-competitive prices. We can now offer the full range of Eagle residential and commercial water treatment solutions including servicing and maintaining all existing units in the province. Water systems typically require annual service to ensure they continue to operate effectively. Depending on the system and frequency of use this maintenance ranges from replacing filters to servicing pistons, seals, and spacers, to replacing media inside of the tank.

If you are an existing customer and are unsure which products you have installed in your home, or if you’d like to book a water test to ensure your systems are working properly, please contact us through this website or by calling 204 201 2224.

If you are a new customer and would like to schedule a water test and an estimate for the installation of a new system, we would also be happy to help you. In-home water tests are done at the time of the estimate in order to size and recommend the appropriate system(s) for your home, while tests for the presence of bacteria such as E. coli have to be sent away to a lab and will take up to 10 days to complete. Regardless of the results, we have a solution that will work for your circumstances.

About our Systems

Eagle 5 Stage point of use Reverse Osmosis

Reverse Osmosis systems work by using your home’s water pressure to force untreated water through a series of fine filters and a semi-permeable membrane in order to remove any remaining salts or impurities from the water before it gets consumed. Typical R.O systems operate at an average waste: water ratio of 4:1 however this can be as high as 12:1 depending on the type and quality of system in your home. The filters which are used in our Eagle Reverse Osmosis systems are:

  1. Sediment Filter – screens out sediments and particles up to 5 micron.

  2. Carbon Filter -reduces elements that cause water to taste and smell unpleasant, including chlorine taste and odor.

  3. Fine 1 Micron Filter – reduces fine particles and chlorine taste and odor.

  4. Reverse Osmosis Membrane – reduces dissolved substances. (50 Gallon per day membrane is standard with the option of either 75 or 100 gallon per day membranes.)

  5. Polishing Filter – polishes the taste of the filtered water.

Eagle Platinum Twin-Tank Conditioner

A high-efficiency reverse flow water softener with smart technology to reduce salt and water consumption in the home. The Conditioner uses resin to absorb calcium from the water service before sending it through your home. As the resin becomes saturated, the smart head will brine and backwash to clean itself and help ensure your water quality remains consistent.

Eagle Titanium Iron & Sulphur filter

Incoming water passes through a compressed pocket of air contained in the tank. The oxygen precipitates the iron & sulphur into solid form and is removed when it passes through the filters media bed. The media acts as a catalyst in the reaction between iron and oxygen that also causes the iron & sulphur to precipitate into a solid. As more water passes through the unit the air becomes depleted and the media becomes overloaded with the iron & sulphur. Periodic automatic regeneration replenishes the supply of air and cleans the media of filtered iron. The media is not consumed in the iron removal process and therefore is much more economical than many other iron removal processes.

Nexsand: is a remarkable advance in media filtration technology. Based on a rare natural mineral that is highly processed and refined, next-Sand’s unique properties allow it to radically alter the performance and cost of media filtration. The hardness, stability and micro-porous character of nexsand makes it a perfect filtration media for virtually every application in the water and wastewater treatment industry.

Birm: is an efficient and economical media for the reduction of dissolved iron and manganese compounds from raw water supplies. It may be used in either gravity fed or pressurized water treatment systems. Birm® acts as an insoluble catalyst to enhance the reaction between dissolved oxygen (D.O.) and the iron compounds.

Chem-Free: Natural oxidation removes iron, sulfur and manganese without chemicals, air pumps or a venturi.

Eagle UV Water Treatment

If you are living rurally or your home is supplied by a well or sand point, we generally will recommend a UV system for your home. If you live rurally and are familiar with the term “shock your well”- then we will always recommend installing a UV system. UV systems works by passing water through a chamber with a specific frequency of UV light to sterilize disease carrying bacteria that can live in water. The effectiveness of a UV system is dependent on contact time with the light (rate of flow, length of/ volume of cylinder, clarity of the water), and so it is not uncommon to install a low-cost filter upstream of the UV system.

Eagle EAC Carbon filter

A low maintenance whole-home charcoal filter which removes chlorine, tastes and odors from your water as it enters your home. This system does not backwash and does require that the media inside to be washed out and replaced as it becomes saturated.
